Modeler Tips:

Side View Notes:
A. Rear red band on propeller boss extends onto spinner to leading edge of blades when in
neutral pitch. Determine width of yellow band by dividing remainder of spinner evenly.
B. “CHICAGO GUN MOLL” in deep yellow, bordered in red. Lettering occupies lower strip panel, spaces between the adjacent vertical seams and the terminal
letters equal to the width of the letters “L”.
C. 29 bomb-style mission marks. 16 in top row, 13 beneath.
Kills denoted by two black swastikas on a white circle bordered
in black.
D. No mirror.
E. No antenna wires were installed on this aircraft.
F. White recognition stripes were of standard widths on wings,
vertical & horizontal stabilizers for early-1944 ETO Mustangs.
G. Tail Number- “36” on fin, “556” on rudder in USAAC yellow.

H. Width of checker reduced on underside in order to fit evenly on the
narrow surfaces of the chin scoop area.
