100th Birthday Celebration for WWII Triple Ace Bud Anderson
On 15 Jan 22, a Celebration was held at the Auburn Municipal Airport, CA, for Bud Anderson’s 100th birthday. His actual birthday was on 13 January 2022. The event was hosted by the Dwelle Family in their hanger. Approximately 200 people were in attendance. World Champion Aerobatic pilot Sean Tucker was the Master of Ceremonies and many aviation greats were in attendance. Dennis Sanders performed a short fly by in one of his Sea Furies, as well as TJ Dwelle in a T-6 and Julie Clark in her T-34. Entertainment was provided by vocalist Theresa Eaman. Colors were presented by the Hiram Johnson High School AF Junior ROTC Color Guard. Audio/Visual arrangements were taken care of by Jeff Kuells and a host of volunteers worked hard to make this event a success. A sincere thank you to Tom Jones, Director of the Aerospace Museum of California, Chris Haven, Kelly Collin and John Carr! Catering was provided by Connie Horning from Wings Grill and Expresso Bar, Bud’s favorite restaurant. Wine was provided by Stewart and Stephanie Perry of Fawnridge Winery. P-51B Old Crow was provided by owner Jack Roush and his pilot Paul Draper. P-51D Old Crow was provided by owner James Hagedorn flown by Ray Fowler. The following video was developed by Scott and Kyle Guyette of Sleeping Dogs Productions and was the heart of the celebration. “It will make you laugh, it will make you cry….hallmarks of a good film.” ~Jim Anderson
