During Air Venture 2022, Oshkosh, WI, the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing unveiled there P-39Q restored as WWII Triple Ace, Bud Anderson’s first aircraft painted as “OLD CROW.” John Cyrier championed the change in livery for their P-39Q and flew the aircraft to Oshkosh. This was a big surprise for Bud, who had turned 100 in January of 2022. The P-39 was presented in Bud’s Warbirds in Review session and Bud flew in a TF-51 Cavalier in formation with the P-39Q “OLD CROW,” the P-51B “OLD CROW,” owned by Jack Roush, and the P-51D “OLD CROW,” owned by Jim Hagedorn. It was a very historic flight! The CAF Central Wing P-39Q was featured in the Nov 2022 issue of Aeroplane and the Jan/Feb issue of Flight Journal Magazine.
