Was shot down by bombers Febr. 25 '44 near Switzer-
land. Broke both legs landing. Was a P.W. until
traded for German P.W. Is now in Santa Barbara,
Calif. hospital getting leg fixed up.

One of our first replacements. Shot down deep
in France April 24, 44. Had one enemy plane to
his credit.

Finished tour of duty OK. Came to our sqd. as
replacement. Back in states after instructing
at Gox Hill, England, following tour of duty.

Hit by flak over France and bailed out March 28,
1944. Went to Paris and then escaped into Spain--
very lucky. Back to England and then to the
states. Was instructing P-51's at Sarasota,
Florida but has gone overseas again to Pacific
with Johnny Pugh and Tom Norris.

An early replacement. Finished his tour OK,
came back and got married. Had a close call
when he was attacked over the channel by FW's
and he bailed out in the drink.

Was my wing man when I got my first plane near
Brunswich. He got one plane and finished tour
OK. Is married and has a young daughter.
(35) MACE, HARVEY F. CAPT. O-805087
(Mrs. H. F. Mace, wife, 427 E. 56th St. Los Angeles.
Came in the group about the same time I did. Finished
tour OK - instructed at Gox Hill in the middle of tour,
was then in Oper. at 3rd Div. after tour. Got 3 planes.
